Your right to cancel

You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day of the conclusion of the contract — the day your payment is confirmed (Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, regulations 29 and 30).

To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us (Northpine Labs LLC, e-mail [email protected]) of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear statement, for example an e-mail. You may use the model cancellation form below, but it is not obligatory. Please include the e-mail address you used to pay and, if you can, the address of your estate page.

To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.

When the right to cancel ends: supplying the pack straight away

The IHT400 pack is digital content: the filled forms, the calculation and the other documents are produced and made available to download as soon as you pay. The law does not let us start supplying it within the 14 days unless you ask us to (regulations 36 and 37). So, at checkout, there is a separate box that is not ticked in advance. You cannot pay without ticking it, and it says:

I ask you to make my IHT400 pack available straight away, before the 14-day cancellation period ends. I understand that I lose my right to cancel once the pack has been supplied.

By ticking it you make an express request for, and give your consent to, supply within the cancellation period, and you acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel. Once the pack has been supplied, you can no longer cancel. The e-mail confirming your order repeats your request and acknowledgement and when you gave them.

If you cancel before the pack has been supplied, you get all your money back. We do not charge for any work done before you cancel.

Effects of cancellation

If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you. We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel this contract. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement (regulation 34).

Refund when our software could not read your documents

Separately from the right to cancel, you can refund yourself from your estate’s pack page if all of these apply:

• it is no more than 14 days since you paid;
• the pack has not yet been produced; and
• our software has not formed an inventory from your documents — for example because it could not read them.

The money goes back to the card or account you paid with, and we confirm it by e-mail. After the refund, your documents and inventory are deleted as the privacy notice describes.

If the pack is faulty

The right to cancel is separate from your rights if something is wrong. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the pack must be of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose and as described. If it is not, tell us through “Report an error in a form” on the contact page. We will correct it or produce it again; if we cannot do that within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, you may be entitled to a price reduction or a refund.

Model cancellation form

You do not have to use this form. If you do, copy it into an e-mail or a letter.

The wording above is the model form in Schedule 3 to the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. For the EstateTally pack, describe it as “the EstateTally IHT400 pack” and give the date you paid.
